Department Overview
The Sales team drives business growth by identifying new companies and clients for Monex currency products, including FX Spot, Forwards, and Options. The team also works to strengthen relationships with existing clients, grow revenue, and collaborate with the Introducing Brokers function wherever relevant.
Role Overview
The FX Business Development Executive will focus on finding potential customers, making a high volume of outbound calls, and developing relationships with key decision-makers through networking, cold calling, and other outreach methods.
Working closely with the sales team, this person will help generate new revenue and partner with teams such as Dealing, Compliance, and Risk to support regulatory adherence. The position can act as a pathway into the sales team when KPIs are achieved.
Selected candidates will join a fast-moving environment within a well-known FX brokerage. Comprehensive sales training and ongoing support will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify prospective clients to create new business opportunities.
- Make a high volume of outbound sales calls.
- Develop and maintain relationships with decision-makers, stakeholders, and prospects through networking, cold calling, email outreach, and similar channels.
- Work with the Senior Account Manager to present and promote the company’s FX products and services, highlighting their value and benefits.
- Track market movements, competitor activity, and regulatory updates to spot risks and opportunities in the FX sector.
- Share regular sales updates with management, including pipeline reviews, revenue forecasts, and progress against targets.
- Keep knowledge current on FX markets, industry practices, and emerging trends to position the company effectively.
- Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast data.
- Work toward weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and KPIs.
- Record client interactions and notes accurately in the company database, FXDB, in line with PIPEDA requirements.
- Assess the needs and expectations of clients brought onboard.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis of client requirements to support strong service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Verify the authenticity and legitimacy of new clients to avoid onboarding false or fraudulent individuals or entities.
- Follow internal sales processes, remuneration policies, and risk management frameworks.
- Comply with regulatory standards such as Treating Customers Fairly, pricing rules, and conduct requirements.
- Recognise and escalate any conduct or compliance concerns appropriately.
Requirements
- Demonstrated success in B2B sales, preferably in financial services or FX.
- Strong capability to create new business and close deals.
- Experience building client relationships and delivering high-quality service.
- Commercial mindset with solid analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders well.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, target-oriented environment.
- Experience in a regulated financial institution is strongly preferred.
- Background in a commercial sales environment.
- Clear understanding of end-to-end sales processes.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and closing skills.
- Knowledge of FX products is an advantage.
- Strong overall communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience with CRM platforms and sales tools.
