Role overview
An established furniture restoration business is hiring an experienced Furniture Technician / Upholsterer to work across customer homes, carrying out inspection, repair, and restoration work on upholstery and furniture. The company is expanding across the UK, Scotland, and Ireland, making this a strong opportunity for someone with practical experience in modern domestic furniture production and restoration.
Compensation and benefits
The basic salary starts at £33,600 per year, with estimated total annual earnings of approximately £37,500 to £41,370+. Weekend overtime is paid at £220 per day, with 1 in 3 Saturdays or Sundays required and additional weekends available at the higher overtime rate. Performance-related pay can add up to £300 per month.
Additional benefits include a company work vehicle, free fuel card, tools, materials, and restoration kits such as leather and wood supplies. The package also includes 23 days of holiday plus bank holidays, increasing by 1 day per year after 2 years of service until reaching 28 days, along with excellent training and development, life insurance, a pension scheme, gym membership, and employee discount schemes.
Key duties
The role focuses on visiting customers' homes to assess furniture and upholstery items, complete repairs where needed, and maintain a high level of service throughout the visit. You will also prepare written reports for both the company and the client, guide customers on how to look after their products, and help manage expectations professionally.
