Position Summary
The Executive Recruiter role is a high-impact position that blends business development with end-to-end recruiting. The person in this seat is responsible for the full 360-degree hiring cycle, from generating new client opportunities to finding and placing strong candidates. This is a fast-moving staffing environment that calls for persistence, a strong sales mindset, and the ability to build and manage a healthy pipeline of both active and passive talent.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Use a focused outbound approach to identify prospects, contact potential clients, and present staffing services in order to win new job orders and signed service agreements.
- Develop durable, consultative partnerships with hiring managers and HR leaders so you become their preferred staffing resource.
- Expand relationships with existing clients by uncovering hiring needs across departments and introducing additional staffing solutions where appropriate.
- Own the full recruiting workflow, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and placing candidates in temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire positions.
- Find and connect with passive high-performing talent through Boolean search methods, social platforms, referrals, and professional networking.
- Handle the business side of placements by negotiating bill rates, conversion fees, and direct-hire percentages.
- Run thorough candidate evaluations to assess technical capability, relevant background, and cultural alignment before submitting profiles.
- Arrange interviews, share feedback between both sides, and manage the offer and closing stages for clients and candidates.
- Keep the Applicant Tracking System updated with accurate, timely records of sales outreach and candidate interactions.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate brings a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a similar discipline, along with 3+ years of business development experience in staffing or closely related HR-adjacent areas such as HR technology, payroll services, or PEO. Familiarity with sourcing platforms, social recruiting, and ATS tools is important, as is comfort working in Microsoft Office Suite and standard business software. The role also requires strong communication, relationship management, organization, and the ability to juggle multiple openings in a high-volume setting. A successful hire will be self-driven, collaborative, results-oriented, and persistent in pursuing business opportunities while consistently delivering strong outcomes.
