Excel Expert

Job Summary

This remote contract role is for an Excel specialist who will contribute domain expertise to help train and improve next-generation AI systems. The work focuses on delivering accurate, practical, real-world Excel input that supports how models learn, reason, and perform. Prior AI experience is not required; strong Excel and business knowledge are the key requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine, interpret, and improve complex Excel workbooks used in business operations, strategic planning, and data analysis.
• Share detailed guidance and practical examples of strong Excel usage for operational and consulting scenarios, with finance-related use cases excluded.
• Build, document, and hand over Excel templates or solutions that demonstrate expert-level practices for AI training.
• Work with the client team to map important workflows and operational pain points represented in spreadsheet files.
• Assess and model realistic business scenarios using advanced Excel formulas and features.
• Prepare clear written and verbal communication, with documentation that is precise, complete, and easy to follow.
• Help develop case studies and operational examples that use Excel-based data analysis.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Advanced command of Microsoft Excel, including sophisticated formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and automation capabilities.
• Hands-on experience creating Excel-based solutions for business operations, strategy, or consulting work.
• Strong analytical ability to tackle complex business problems in non-financial contexts using spreadsheets.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with strong attention to detail.
• Capability to document procedures, create learning materials, and provide actionable feedback.
• Experience in data analysis, scenario building, and workflow improvement through Excel.
• Independent, self-driven, and comfortable delivering work in a remote environment.

Preferred Background

A background in business operations, strategy, or management consulting is an advantage. Familiarity with AI training or machine-learning dataset work in a subject-matter role is also helpful. Experience building Excel-driven tools or dashboards for operational improvement initiatives is preferred.
