Company Overview
Knowwaste Pty Ltd is an Australian sustainability and waste management consultancy that delivers impartial support to councils, waste organisations, and private-sector clients nationwide. Its work includes waste audits, analysing and consolidating data, litter reduction initiatives, bin checks, and community consultation programs.
Role Overview
This Sydney-based, on-site position is focused on carrying out waste audits at residential, commercial, and public locations, including kerbside collections and public place recycling streams.
What the Role Involves
In this role, you will be responsible for field sampling, sorting materials, capturing and combining waste data, and turning findings into clear reports with practical recommendations that help improve waste handling and sustainability performance.
You will also support bin reconciliation work and contribute to community engagement activities such as surveys and on-ground data gathering.
The position requires close coordination with other team members to ensure all site work is completed safely, meets quality expectations, and aligns with client needs.
Core Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability and reporting capability, including data consolidation, basic statistical interpretation, and the preparation of written findings and recommendations.
You should be comfortable working safely in field environments, following WHS requirements, and using correct manual handling methods.
Good communication and people skills are important for interacting with community members, clients, and colleagues during consultations and project work.
This role also calls for a high level of accuracy, dependability, and time management to keep projects on track and delivered to the required standard.
Preferred Background
Experience in waste auditing, environmental assessment, or similar field-based work is preferred, along with the ability to collect, sort, and log data accurately.
A relevant tertiary qualification in environmental science, waste management, sustainability, or a related area is desirable, though equivalent hands-on experience may also be considered.
A current driver’s licence is preferred, together with willingness to travel for audits and the ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
