Design Engineer Golf

Role overview

This position sits within PUMA’s golf business and focuses on designing and engineering golf club products from concept through production. The role combines advanced CAD work, product development coordination, prototyping, supplier interaction, testing, and manufacturing support. Key responsibilities

• Build full golf club 3D parametric models in NX CAD, covering surfaces, structures, details, branding, and components.
• Lead and coordinate golf club projects across product goals, industrial design, product management, specifications, mass properties, engineering, testing, and manufacturing engineering.
• Work directly with suppliers to develop and produce new products.
• Convert concept renderings into detailed 3D CAD models using advanced modeling methods.
• Improve club performance through mass-property analysis, testing, and iterative engineering changes.
• Create 3D-printed prototype club models for evaluation and analysis.
• Partner with the development team on pilot builds and production runs.
• Plan and drive product testing and performance strategies.
• Collaborate with the product team on new golf club ideas and concepts.
• Explore patent opportunities for new concepts, technologies, and product ideas.

Required background and skills

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, design, or a closely related discipline.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in golf club product design and engineering.
• Strong 3D CAD skills, including freeform surfacing, parametric sketching, solid modeling, associative modeling, and part families.
• Exposure to computational design tools such as Rhino Grasshopper, nTop, or Blender.
• Working knowledge of office tools such as Excel and PowerPoint.
• Project leadership experience with the ability to guide a team and manage delivery.
• Experience communicating with vendors and supporting manufacturing-related work.
• Strong understanding of golf, golf club physics, golf history, and the golf market.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Highly organized, detail-focused, and persistent in follow-through.
• Ability to plan work effectively and meet business deadlines.
• Creative, innovative, entrepreneurial, and results-driven.
• Capable of managing several projects and tasks at once.

Compensation and benefits

The base pay range for this role is $70,304 to $91,900, plus bonus and benefits. Pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Corporate benefits are included.
