Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and technically strong Database Administrator to support our IT function in the UAE. The position focuses on maintaining healthy, secure, and high-performing databases that support day-to-day business operations. This role offers the chance to work with enterprise-grade database platforms and contribute to critical systems reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and support database management systems.
• Track database performance and refine queries to improve speed and efficiency.
• Carry out backups, restore operations, and disaster recovery preparation.
• Protect database security, preserve data integrity, and maintain availability.
• Diagnose database problems and apply practical fixes.
• Handle upgrades, patches, and migration activities across database environments.
• Work closely with developers and IT colleagues to support business applications.
• Keep database records, procedures, and operational notes accurate and up to date.

What We Are Looking For

• Strong logical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Working knowledge of SQL and database platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Good understanding of database security, backup, and recovery practices.
• Clear communication and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team setting.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Prior experience in a Database Administrator role or a similar position is an advantage.
• Hands-on experience in database monitoring, tuning, and maintenance is expected.
• Certifications in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, AWS, or Azure are considered a plus.
