Data Reporting Analyst (Alteryx, Expert)

Role overview

Synechron is hiring a Data Reporting Analyst to build, maintain, and improve scalable reporting solutions and data workflows. This position focuses on turning business needs into technical reporting logic, strengthening data quality and governance, and supporting dependable decision-making through accurate analytics and regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Create automated reports and complex workflows using Alteryx, SQL, Python, and related tools.
• Translate reporting needs shared by business teams into technical specifications for regulatory and operational reports.
• Check source data and confirm that reports meet governance and data quality expectations.
• Partner with IT and data engineering teams to improve datasets, semantic layers, and other reporting assets.
• Analyze data to identify trends and generate insights for different business functions.
• Prepare and maintain documentation, data definitions, and metadata for reporting deliverables.
• Investigate reporting defects, fix data mismatches, and support strong report reliability.
• Handle ad hoc data pulls and analysis using SQL, Excel, and Python when required.

Required experience and knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in BI reporting, analytics, or data visualization.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL, Alteryx, SAS, Python, and data modeling concepts.
• Ability to convert business requests into clear technical requirements.
• Understanding of governance concepts such as certified datasets, metadata, and KPI standardization.
• Hands-on exposure to data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Azure Synapse.
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT, semantic models, and data pipelines.
• Comfort with Agile practices and documentation tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and strong stakeholder coordination skills.
• Industry certification in BI tools or cloud platforms is valued.
