Role overview
IDHAN PRIVATE LIMITED is hiring a Cost Accountant for its plant in Visakhapatnam, VSEZ Duvvada. The position reports to the Finance Manager or Managing Director and is designed for a finance professional who can act as a strategic partner to plant leadership. The role centers on comprehensive cost management, advanced cost modelling, and initiatives that strengthen margins and improve the plant’s financial performance within a manufacturing setup.
Key responsibilities
- Own the plant’s cost accounting operations and put in place effective systems for cost control.
- Create and maintain product costing structures, activity-based costing frameworks, and profitability analysis at the process level.
- Study cost movements, production productivity, and inventory consumption to support informed business decisions.
- Compare standard costs with actual costs, identify variances, and lead root-cause analysis followed by corrective action.
- Carry out plant-level cost reviews and work closely with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to keep financials aligned.
- Lead efforts to reduce waste, improve processes, and optimize costs across both detailed and broader operational levels.
- Manage inventory valuation, stock verification, and reconciliation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Partner with the Finance Head and Plant Director on capex planning and cost-benefit evaluation.
- Maintain compliance with Cost Accounting Standards, internal controls, and statutory reporting obligations.
- Prepare MIS packs, dashboards, and executive summaries for senior leadership and board-level review.
Required profile
- CMA qualification is required; an MBA in Finance or CA Inter will be considered an added advantage.
- 8 to 10 years of overall experience in cost accounting, including at least 3 years in a senior role within a manufacturing plant.
- Demonstrated success in cost reduction initiatives and profitability improvement.
- Strong hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle, along with advanced Excel and Power BI for analysis.
- Solid understanding of cost structures, manufacturing operations, and inventory control in industrial environments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional coordination abilities.
