About the Company
Garage.app is developing AI-led SaaS products for founders, operators, and builders who need useful tools to work faster. The team operates in a startup setting where quick experimentation, frequent iteration, and direct user feedback guide product decisions.
The company believes strong communities are essential for product growth. This role is intended for someone who approaches community work like a builder and enjoys creating connected ecosystems, engaging early users, and converting them into advocates.
Role Overview
This is a community-building position focused on founders, product builders, and other early adopters around Garage.app’s SaaS tools. You will help create a space where founders, developers, operators, and experimenters can share feedback, try new products, and influence how the platform develops.
You will act as the link between the community and the product team so that user input feeds directly into product evolution.
Key Responsibilities
Your work will center on building and growing the community, encouraging participation, and creating meaningful engagement around the product ecosystem.
- Set up and run community channels such as Slack, Discord, or private forums.
- Bring founders, indie hackers, developers, and SaaS operators into the community.
- Foster a welcoming environment that encourages active participation and belonging.
- Spot early users who can become power users and strong product advocates.
- Create systems that motivate members to share feedback, test use cases, and try experiments.
- Develop programs like ambassador groups, beta tester cohorts, and product champion initiatives.
- Start and sustain conversations about product building, AI tools, SaaS growth, and startup journeys.
- Promote peer-to-peer learning and knowledge sharing among founders and builders.
- Plan and host AMAs, founder sessions, product demos, and live feedback events.
- Organize virtual meetups, builder-focused sessions, and collaborative problem-solving activities.
- Launch challenges and experiments that encourage members to build with Garage.app products.
- Collect feedback and user insights from the community in a structured way.
- Work with product and engineering teams to turn community input into product improvements.
- Show the community how their contributions are reflected in product decisions.
- Support marketing with community-led growth efforts.
- Identify partnership opportunities within startup ecosystems, founder networks, and creator communities.
- Encourage organic advocacy and word-of-mouth growth.
Who This Role Suits
This opportunity is best suited to someone who naturally enjoys building communities and ecosystems around technology and startups. Ideal backgrounds include community building in a startup or SaaS company, developer relations, product community leadership, founder/operator experience, or deep involvement in startup, AI, or SaaS communities.
Experience and Skills
The preferred candidate should have 3 to 6 years of experience in community building, developer relations, SaaS ecosystem development, or startup growth. Experience managing online communities, founder networks, or product user groups is important, along with exposure to SaaS products, AI tools, startup communities, or developer ecosystems. The role also calls for a proven ability to grow and engage a digital community.
Strong communication and storytelling skills are essential, along with the ability to build relationships with founders, developers, and early adopters. Familiarity with community platforms such as Slack, Discord, Circle, or similar tools is useful. You should also be able to identify themes in user feedback and share those insights clearly with product teams. Comfort in a fast-moving startup environment and a willingness to experiment are important.
Ideal Personality Traits
The right person for this role should enjoy building from the ground up, be genuinely curious about technology and AI, and prefer a community-first approach. A proactive mindset, comfort with ambiguity, resilience, and a natural ability to connect people will be key to success.
Why This Role Matters
At Garage.app, the community is expected to be more than an audience; it will play a central role in product development. This role will help build a network of founders, builders, and innovators who actively influence the future of the company’s SaaS tools.
