Claims Processing Agent - Freelance AI Trainer

Overview

This opportunity is for a project-based role supporting AI development for major technology companies. Contributors help test, review, and improve AI systems through specialized insurance claims work. This is not a permanent job; participation is tied to individual projects.

What you may work on

• Review AI-produced auto insurance claim outcomes to check whether decisions are accurate, coverage is applied correctly, and regulatory rules are followed.
• Create FNOL situations that intentionally include contradictions, misleading files, and outdated paperwork to challenge the model’s ability to respond correctly.
• Develop and evaluate fraud-screening scenarios using structured reasons such as late notice, recently purchased coverage, or inconsistent damage details for SIU referral.
• Prepare subrogation scenarios using state-level negligence rules, including comparative and contributory negligence, and judge recovery potential.
• Record test cases in a clear format with the correct answers, policy references, and claim payout calculations.

Time commitment

Compensation

Compensation can reach the equivalent of $60 per hour, depending on your level and the pace at which you complete work. Pay levels may differ from one project to another based on scope, complexity, and expertise required.

Additional requirements and signals

• A degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a closely related area is preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in insurance, claims, legal, or financial services is expected.
• Current or recent experience in claims handling or a similar role is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with auto insurance coverage decisions, state-specific negligence rules, and adjuster authority-limit practices is valuable.
• AIC, CPCU, CIFI, or SCLA certification is a strong advantage, although solid practical experience can compensate for the absence of a credential.
• Strong written English at C1 level or above is required.
