Role overview

Star Academies is hiring a Site Supervisor for Tauheedul Islam Boys' High School in the Greater Blackburn with Darwen area. The post supports the school through day-to-day caretaking, site supervision, and upkeep of the premises.

What the role involves

• Deliver an efficient caretaking service across the school site.
• Oversee the work of cleaning staff and help maintain expected standards.
• Check, monitor, and log the quality of cleaning and grounds maintenance.
• Ensure all contractors are properly signed in at the school office and respond to their queries as needed.
• Serve as a keyholder, opening and securing all access and exit points at the beginning and end of each school day.

Skills and experience needed

• A good grasp of core health and safety rules in schools, including COSHH and risk assessment.
• Practical experience with specialist building maintenance work at a level suitable for a competent handyperson.
• Experience maintaining accurate work records.
• Comfort handling a mix of caretaking and cleaning duties.
• The ability to prioritise tasks, manage your own workload, and keep lower-priority jobs moving forward.
