CAD Engineer - Civil

Role overview

Larsen & Toubro is hiring a Civil CAD Engineer for its Greater Chennai Area operations. The role focuses on producing accurate technical drawings and layout documents for construction-related work using CAD tools, while supporting project coordination and documentation.

What you will do

• Create CAD-based drawings for structural and other construction projects, ensuring the output is detailed and ready for execution.
• Develop layouts and visual representations that clearly explain the flow and structure of the design.
• Work with the design team to examine drawings, validate design intent, and refine outputs where needed.
• Update drawings based on input from engineers or architects so the final design reflects review comments.
• Check that all drawings follow internal company standards, quality expectations, and regulatory guidelines.
• Prepare or support project correspondence with clients and contractors when needed.
• Assist in producing cost estimates, bid-related documents, and purchase requisitions to help projects move toward completion.
• Review preliminary sketches and rough drafts with the engineering team, then revise them to improve usability and functionality.
• Look for possible operational or practical issues in the drawings and adjust the design to address them.
• Take on additional job-related tasks as assigned.
