Context and environment

Tanzania is an English-speaking market with more than fifty active oil marketing companies. TEMTL is among the leading operators in the country, competing mainly with Puma and Oryx and holding an estimated market share of about 8%. The industry is tightly regulated, and the Tanzanian shilling can fluctuate from time to time.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports and maintain regular coordination with shareholders at the head office.
• Compile the monthly dashboard, including profit and loss information, along with clear supporting commentary.
• Produce the working capital requirement report, covering stock levels, days sales outstanding, and payables analysis.
• Prepare investment reports and reconcile them with SAP records.
• Prepare EWURA compliance reports, including monthly sales and import data.
• Draft the capex liquidation summary, compare it against the business unit figures, and distribute it to the relevant user departments.
• Handle daily reporting tasks, including the margin report and its analysis, and share it with commercial teams and management.
• Prepare daily sales reports and circulate them to commercial teams and management.
• Enter product pricing in SAP based on inputs received from the commercial team.
• Create vendor and staff accounts as needed.
• Monitor and analyze product costs to support management in daily pricing decisions.
• Oversee daily sales activity to ensure that pricing and costing are applied correctly.
• Support the Budget Manager in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews.
• Assist in the preparation and review of budget files and long-term plan files.
• Analyze business results and explain the factors affecting performance.
• Help update the executive dashboard.

Candidate profile

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• Strong analytical ability is essential.
• Working knowledge of SAP processes, especially MM, SD, and FI, is required.
• Advanced Excel skills are needed.
• At least 3 years of experience in finance is required.
