Business Analyst (Entry / Junior)

Role overview

Amigas en Mineria is seeking a part-time entry-level Business Analyst to support process analysis and improve how work gets done across the business. This role is based in Melbourne, Victoria, with flexibility to work from home on some days.

The position is suited to early-career professionals who want to develop core business analysis experience in the mining sector. You will help capture business needs, document requirements, and contribute to practical recommendations that strengthen operational performance.

What you will do

In this role, you will work with internal teams to understand existing processes, collect and structure data, and turn business needs into clear, usable documentation. You will also assist with workshops and meetings, help prepare stakeholder reports and presentations, and support testing and checking of proposed solutions.

Qualifications and capabilities

The role calls for strong analytical thinking and the ability to spot patterns in data to support informed decisions. You should have a basic grounding in business analysis methods, including requirements gathering and contributing to solution design.

Good written and verbal communication is important, as you will be working closely with stakeholders and team members. You should also understand business process concepts, be able to map workflows, and identify where improvements can be made.

Applicants should be comfortable documenting and prioritising business requirements in a clear, organised way, and should either hold or be working toward tertiary studies in Business, Commerce, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline. Familiarity with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and simple data visualisation tools is expected, along with a willingness to learn new systems.

You should be able to work both independently and collaboratively, manage time well, and stay organised. An interest in the mining and resources industry, together with a commitment to inclusive, safe, and ethical working practices, is also valued.
