Overview
This is a project-based opportunity with a company that pairs subject-matter experts with AI-related assignments for major technology clients. The work centers on evaluating, testing, and refining AI systems rather than holding a permanent role.
Candidates should send a CV in English and include their English proficiency level.
What the work involves
Although the exact tasks vary by project, contributors may be asked to:
- Build original computational biology challenges that mirror genuine research workflows in biology.
- Write problems that require Python-based solutions using tools such as NumPy, SciPy, and BioPython.
- Develop tasks that are too complex to solve manually in a practical timeframe, often taking days or weeks.
- Create scenarios that involve advanced reasoning in bioinformatics, systems biology, and molecular modeling.
- Ground assignments in real biological research questions or applied use cases.
- Check answers with Python and standard computational biology packages.
- Prepare clear problem statements and supply verified correct solutions.
Candidate profile
This role is suited to biology professionals who also have Python experience and are open to non-permanent, part-time project work. The ideal background includes a degree in Biology or a related discipline, along with strong written English at C1 level or higher.
Relevant technical exposure may include Python for numerical validation and familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, domain-specific libraries, Stata, or another programming language that can serve an equivalent purpose.
Applicants should have at least 2 years of professional experience, which may come from applied work, research, or teaching. Experience with biological data analysis, algorithms, bioinformatics tools, and computational methods is also expected.
How the process works
The workflow is: apply, complete the qualification step(s), join a project, finish assigned tasks, and receive payment.
Project time and compensation
During active periods, the expected workload is around 10 to 20 hours per week. This is only an estimate and is not guaranteed.
Contributors may earn up to the equivalent of $45 per hour on this project, depending on their pace and level of contribution. Compensation can differ from one project to another based on scope, complexity, and expertise required.
