Battery Design and Development Intern

About the internship

This internship is centered on the design and development of battery packs for electric mobility applications. The role involves building multi-module concepts, supporting production ramp-up, coordinating with internal teams, and contributing to certification and thermal design work.

Key responsibilities

• Create and refine battery pack designs for the product.
• Develop multi-modular concepts suited for the application.
• Work closely with design-development, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.
• Support the manufacturing and process team during scale-up of battery pack production.
• Coordinate with certification and testing agencies such as ICAT and ARAI.
• Handle cell tab joining methods including bolting, laser welding, spot welding, and wire bonding.
• Calculate busbar thickness and contribute to busbar design.
• Perform thermal analysis as part of the battery pack development process.

Who can apply

This opportunity is open only to candidates who can commit to a full-time, in-office internship, can begin between 22nd Jun'26 and 12th Aug'26, are available for 6 months, and have relevant skills and interest. Mechanical Engineering students are specifically eligible.

Requirements

• Practical experience with design tools such as SolidWorks, NX, and Catia V5.
• Working knowledge of battery cell chemistries such as NMC, NCA, and LFP.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics.
• Ability to support structural and thermal management design for HV battery packs and auxiliary systems.
• Awareness of passive and active cooling approaches.
• Good communication and presentation abilities.
• Sound technical decision-making skills.
