Role overview
This position is for a backend engineer focused on dialer and telephony solutions. The work centers on building and supporting the backend layer of an omnichannel dialer product, with a strong emphasis on Node.js, IVR, and communication APIs. The role requires someone who can create dependable, scalable systems for voice and messaging workflows.
What you will do
- Develop REST APIs with Node.js.
- Improve the flow of data between PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Build and support backend services for an omnichannel dialer platform.
- Connect telephony APIs so the platform can handle outbound and inbound calls, SMS, and related communication channels.
- Create IVR journeys, call-routing logic, and automation features.
- Fine-tune call handling, queuing, and agent allocation to support heavy traffic and dependable performance.
- Work closely with frontend, product, and engineering teams to translate technical needs into working solutions.
- Maintain strong standards for scalability, security, and performance.
- Track system health, diagnose issues, and roll out improvements.
- Keep up with current telephony and communication technologies and apply practical best practices.
Candidate profile
- You should have at least 4 years of backend development experience, with deep hands-on work in Node.js for scalable applications, microservices, and REST APIs.
- You need a minimum of 1 year of experience working on dialer, telephony, IVR, contact center, auto dialer, predictive dialer, voice bot, or communication platform products.
- You must have practical experience building and maintaining backend systems for calling platforms, including inbound and outbound call flows, call tracking, agent handling, and communication workflows.
- You should have integrated telephony APIs, SIP-based systems, voice APIs, call APIs, SMS APIs, or similar communication platforms.
- You need a strong grasp of IVR design, call-routing logic, automation flows, queue management, agent assignment, escalation paths, and other telephony processes.
- You must be comfortable working with PostgreSQL and preferably Redis for caching, session handling, queue management, or real-time use cases.
- Experience in CPaaS, contact center, telephony, communication platforms, voice technology, conversational AI, voice bots, customer engagement platforms, unified communications, or SaaS product companies is preferred.
- Applicants should be able to join immediately or within 15 days.
- Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
