About the role
TasNetworks is looking for a detail-oriented and efficient Asset Inspector to join its field operations team in Rocherlea, Tasmania. In this position, you will inspect overhead electricity infrastructure, spot defective assets, and contribute to the safety and reliability of the network.
This role is based at the Rocherlea depot and sits at Level 1, with a base salary starting from $80,866 per year plus superannuation. The total package will be discussed with the selected candidate and adjusted according to skills and experience.
You will carry out inspections independently in the field, work within established procedures, document findings accurately, and escalate concerns when needed. Success in this role depends on strong communication, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to organise and manage your own workload.
About you
The ideal candidate has prior experience inspecting properties or assets and is confident working safely on their own in field-based environments. You should be dependable, well-organised, and capable of making decisions within defined processes.
Role requirements
- Inspect overhead electricity assets to identify faults or damage
- Carry out fieldwork independently while following set procedures
- Accurately capture inspection details and records
- Escalate issues when defects or risks are identified
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and efficient working practices
- Handle your own workload in an organised and reliable way
Skills and experience needed
- Experience inspecting property, infrastructure, or similar assets
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic computer literacy and data entry ability
- Good judgment and decision-making within procedural guidelines
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Driver’s licence; 4WD experience is preferred
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
