Team background

The FP&A function provides strategic financial planning, analytics, and decision support for a large retail footprint across the US. Its work includes forecasting, reporting, and operational analysis to help the business make better data-driven decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare reliable financial reports and, under supervision, support ad hoc analysis and financial modeling work.
• Maintain a strong focus on accuracy and timely delivery of analysis outputs.
• Consult senior team members to select solutions that can scale and fit within an established support framework.
• Provide the Sr. Analyst, Lead Analyst, or Manager with the information needed to set expectations clearly during stakeholder scoping discussions.
• Build ad hoc business analyses by applying academic concepts and partnering with senior analysts to deepen insights and document observations from data.
• Ask clarifying questions when needed and choose an appropriate analytical approach.
• Help complete team initiatives and project work.
• Respond to tactical business questions.
• Work through problem statements with limited information and add layers of analysis when the situation is ambiguous.
• Collaborate effectively with business partners and teams in SSC-B and SSC-M.
• Learn and support financial planning and analysis activities, including forecasting using key retail drivers such as pricing, promotions, weather, and market conditions.
• Build and maintain operating metrics and business performance metrics.

Experience required

The role calls for 2 to 4 years of relevant experience.

Education and qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, finance, or a related field, or a Chartered Accountant qualification, or an MBA.

Skills needed

• Ability to collect, compile, and visualize data effectively.
• Hands-on capability with Excel at an intermediate to advanced level.
• Working knowledge of Power BI, with automation experience considered an advantage.
• Basic SQL querying skills.
• Python knowledge is a plus.
• Comfort with learning quickly and applying classroom concepts in practical work.
• Adaptability in a fast-moving and changing environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal collaboration skills.
