Role overview
This position focuses on managing LPG trading activity in Singapore. The role centers on building strong commercial relationships, spotting market opportunities, and running operations in a way that improves trading performance and keeps execution smooth.
What you will do
- Carry out LPG trading plans and handle the day-to-day flow of trading work while staying aligned with business objectives and market conditions.
- Develop and preserve productive relationships with customers, suppliers, and counterparties to identify and close profitable opportunities.
- Track international LPG market movements, study supply and demand patterns, and turn findings into practical trading input.
- Lead negotiations for trading agreements and make sure contract terms, company rules, and industry regulations are followed.
- Work closely with logistics, risk, and finance teams to keep trades moving efficiently and to resolve operational issues.
- Assess commercial, credit, price, and operational exposure, and take steps to reduce risk.
- Plan and coordinate LPG cargo movement, including scheduling, shipping, and delivery, so commitments are met on time.
- Keep accurate records of trading activity and share performance updates with senior leadership.
- Represent the business at industry events and networking forums to strengthen market visibility in the LPG sector.
- Look for ways to improve trading efficiency, profitability, and compliance through ongoing process enhancements.
Skills and qualifications
- Strong understanding of LPG trading, including market behavior, pricing, and trade flows.
- Good negotiation ability and confidence in managing business relationships.
- Analytical thinking to interpret market data and support decision-making.
- Knowledge of trading risk management fundamentals.
- Comfort using trading platforms, market analysis tools, and CRM software.
- Strong planning and coordination skills for managing contracts, logistics, and trade execution.
- Clear communication and presentation skills for working with stakeholders at different levels.
- Awareness of compliance requirements, contractual obligations, and relevant regulations in LPG trading.
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-moving commercial environment.
Education and experience
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Energy Management, Economics, or a related discipline is required. The employer is looking for candidates with 5 to 7 years of experience in LPG trading, energy trading, or similar roles. A strong record of closing deals and managing trading operations in the LPG market is expected. Experience in both physical and financial LPG trading is preferred.
