Neeyamo is hiring a US Payroll Lead in Madurai to own the delivery of payroll system implementations for client engagements. This role focuses on ensuring accurate and compliant payroll operations, aligning payroll platforms with HRIS tools, and guiding end-to-end execution across implementation, validation, and post-go-live support.

Core responsibilities

  • Act as the primary expert for US payroll systems, processes, and related workflows.
  • Set up and tailor payroll solutions so they match business requirements and compliance expectations.
  • Ensure payroll platforms connect smoothly with HRIS and other related systems.
  • Oversee payroll data migration, data checks, and resolution of technical issues.
  • Keep payroll operations aligned with US federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Partner with legal and compliance teams to maintain regulatory adherence.
  • Work with testing teams to build and run test cases and UAT scenarios.
  • Lead parallel payroll runs and validation activities to confirm data accuracy.

  • Develop and conduct training sessions for internal teams and client stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain process documentation, user guides, and operational manuals.
  • Support payroll operations after go-live and resolve transition-related issues.
  • Recommend process or system improvements to strengthen performance.
  • Mentor team members, identify learning gaps, and arrange additional training where needed.
  • Review team performance and encourage continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, IT, or a related discipline.
  • 7 to 9 years of experience in US payroll management, including payroll system implementation work.
  • Exposure to Canada payroll is an added advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise payroll platforms such as ADP, Workday, Ceridian, Paychex, or similar systems.
  • Strong knowledge of US payroll laws, tax rules, and compliance obligations.
  • Project management methodology knowledge is preferred.
  • CPP or FPC certification from PayrollOrg is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and project coordination capabilities.
  • Good analytical thinking, issue-solving ability, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting strict timelines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder handling skills.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, maritime, or offshore drilling payroll is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with rotational work patterns such as 14-on/14-off, hazard pay, day-rate structures, and multi-state or multi-jurisdiction taxation is preferred.
  • Global payroll implementation experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of HRIS and ERP integration processes is preferred.
