About the Role
Calvary Health Care is seeking a dedicated Sterilising Technician for its Lenah Valley facility in Hobart, Tasmania. This permanent, full-time position involves the comprehensive processing and distribution of reusable medical devices essential for patient care. The role demands strict adherence to established standards, policies, and procedures for instruments, reprocessing methods, and the overall working environment. Opportunities may arise for cross-skilling within the Calvary Endoscopy Department to reprocess endoscopes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collecting, cleaning, sterilising, and packaging reusable medical devices.
- Maintaining accurate documentation in line with organisational policies, procedures, and industry standards.
- Participating in daily quality controls, testing, monitoring of compliance, and validation processes.
About You
- Demonstrated experience working within a sterilising unit is required.
- A solid understanding of relevant industry standards is necessary.
- Possession of a Certificate III in Sterilising Services or an equivalent qualification is mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Willingness to work a fully rotational shift roster, including weekdays from 06:00 to 22:00, Saturdays from 08:00 to 18:00, and participation in on-call duties.
