Software Engineer

Role Overview

Newbridge is hiring a Software Engineer to join a cross-disciplinary group of engineers spanning software, computer, mechanical, electronics, and communications. In this role, you will help develop the software intelligence that powers advanced underwater robotic platforms, with the goal of improving performance, safety, and ease of use. The systems you build will need to work smoothly with other components to satisfy demanding mission objectives.

Compensation

The budget for this position is SGD 5,000 per month.

Key Responsibilities

You will support the software development process end to end, contributing in areas such as requirements definition, system design, implementation, verification, and integration.

• Work with stakeholders to understand system needs and convert mission and user expectations into software requirements.
• Develop software architectures that are dependable, secure, and safe to operate.
• Build efficient, well-structured code and create test cases to confirm software behavior.
• Prepare testing setups and simulation environments for hardware and software validation.
• Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines to execute integration testing on hardware during lab, field, and sea trials.
• Be available for short overseas travel when project trials require it.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Strong programming ability in C or C++.
• Exposure to Java or Python, along with Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, will be an advantage.
• Genuine enthusiasm for writing code that is tested in real-world field conditions.
• Interest in one or more related areas such as AI/ML, data analytics, IoT, real-time embedded systems, cyber-physical system security, robotics, GUI development, video encoding, signal processing, network communications, control systems, or full-stack web development.
• A collaborative mindset and comfort working across multiple engineering functions.
• Self-driven, able to work to deadlines, and effective under pressure.

Additional Information

This is a full-time onsite role based in Singapore, Singapore.
