Role Overview
Red Badge Group is looking for an experienced and committed Security Site Supervisor to oversee operations at Centre Place, a busy retail destination in Hamilton. This position plays an important part in maintaining a safe, friendly, and positive environment for staff, tenants, visitors, and the wider site. The role suits someone who enjoys leading people, managing security operations, and delivering excellent customer service.
This is a Monday to Friday position, with hours worked during standard business hours.
Core Duties
- Provide day-to-day leadership for on-site security personnel, setting clear expectations and demonstrating high professional standards.
- Oversee daily security activities to ensure the site is properly covered and that Centre Place standard operating procedures are followed.
- Serve as the main point of contact for security-related, medical, fire, and behavioural escalations on site.
- Lead emergency responses in accordance with the site’s emergency response procedures.
- Manage CCTV, access control, alarm, and key systems while maintaining privacy and data compliance.
- Prepare accurate incident reports promptly and maintain reliable documentation.
- Develop strong working relationships with Centre Management, tenants, and outside stakeholders.
- Track attendance, manage shift handovers, and prioritise daily tasks to avoid gaps in service.
- Assist with induction, coaching, training, and ongoing performance improvement for security team members.
- Ensure health and safety requirements, risk controls, and Red Badge Group values are consistently upheld.
Experience and Requirements
Applicants should have 1–3 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity, ideally in security, retail, facilities, events, hospitality, or a similar setting. A current New Zealand Certificate of Approval (COA) licence is preferred, or equivalent leadership experience in the security field.
You should be confident handling daily operations in a small to medium client environment, and able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people. Strong knowledge of security best practice, compliance, health and safety, and risk management is important, along with confidence using security systems and producing incident documentation.
Applicants must have no criminal convictions, be physically capable of meeting the demands of the role, be eligible to work in New Zealand, and be 18 years of age or older.
