Role overview
John Taylor Free School, part of John Taylor Multi Academy Trust (JTMAT), is looking for a dependable and enthusiastic Site Operative to join its small site team on a permanent, full-time, year-round basis. The role supports the smooth day-to-day running of the school environment and contributes to maintaining a safe, welcoming and well-kept campus.
Working pattern and pay
This post is for 37 hours per week on a whole-year contract. The normal working pattern is Monday 8:00am to 4:00pm and Tuesday to Friday 10:00am to 6:00pm. During school closure periods, the hours change to Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. The salary is Grade 5 (SCP 7–9), with an annual pay range of £26,403 to £27,254.
Main purpose of the role
The successful applicant will provide reliable caretaking support across the school, covering site maintenance, security and the general presentation of the building and grounds. The position also requires flexibility to work different shifts when needed, including to cover sickness or other absences.

John Taylor Free School opened in 2018 and now operates at full capacity across Years 7 to 13.
