Role overview

An established construction client is seeking an experienced Site Foreman / Site Manager for a major project in the west of Ireland. The position is part of a team focused on delivering the project to schedule and within budget, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

The business is looking for someone with proven Irish main contractor experience and a background in managing large-scale work to demanding timelines and high standards. Experience on commercial, residential, healthcare, or retail developments would be an advantage. Opportunities are available in Galway, Mayo, Clare, and Athlone.

What the role involves

• Leading site activities and helping ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
• Coordinating subcontractors and planning look-ahead schedules to keep the programme on track.
• Preparing progress updates and chairing site meetings.
• Communicating effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Managing site setup, security, logistics, deliveries, and traffic flow.
• Working with the Project Manager to maintain the construction programme and sequence finishing trades efficiently.
• Monitoring labour, plant, site setup, and overheads to support quality delivery and reduce rework.
• Maintaining strong compliance with current construction health and safety requirements.
• Working with the design team to resolve construction-related issues.
• Raising material requisitions as needed.
• Keeping the site diary and daily activity records up to date.
• Tracking and controlling site quality and workmanship standards.

Candidate profile

Applicants with either an engineering background or a trade background will be considered. The successful person must be confident using computers, experienced in reporting and site coordination, and able to operate effectively in a fast-moving construction environment.
