Overview
Join a restaurant team in Waynesboro, Georgia as a Shift Manager. This role is part of an independently owned and operated McDonald’s franchise restaurant, so the franchisee — not McDonald’s USA — will be the employer and the party handling all hiring, supervision, scheduling, discipline, and other employment decisions.

What the role involves
Shift Managers are expected to guide the crew and other managers through each shift while keeping the restaurant running to the brand’s standards for quality, service, and cleanliness. The role includes planning ahead for shifts, tracking performance during service, and stepping in when needed to keep operations on track.
You may also be responsible for coordinating communication between shifts, helping meet shift targets, supporting department goals, and watching over areas such as safety, security, profitability, and overall store performance.
Core duties
- Lead shift operations and support crew and management team members during service.
- Plan for upcoming shifts and help ensure smooth handoffs between managers.
- Monitor restaurant performance and take action to keep standards on track.
- Maintain food quality, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction throughout the shift.
- Oversee safety, security, inventory, and daily maintenance activities.
- Support crew management, scheduling, and training efforts.
- Help the team meet shift goals and department objectives.
Experience and fit
Previous leadership experience is preferred, especially in restaurants, retail, or hospitality. The hiring team is looking for someone who works well with others, brings a positive attitude, adapts to a flexible schedule, and enjoys a fast-moving restaurant setting.
