Service Technician

Role Overview

This opening combines two seasonal responsibilities: termite inspection/service work for part of the year and Christmas décor installation leadership for the other part. The position is based in Tuscaloosa, AL and requires local travel in a company vehicle to customer sites.

Termite Inspection and Service Season

From February through September, you will visit customers’ homes to complete yearly termite inspections inside and outside the property. You will manage your own calendar, stay on top of daily appointments, and keep your week organized. Support with termite treatment work will also be needed when required.

This part of the job calls for someone who works independently, communicates well, and brings a friendly, professional approach with customers. You should be comfortable crawling under homes for inspection and treatment work, and able to spend long periods walking and standing.

There is also room to recommend additional services to customers and earn sales commissions through upselling.

Schedule and Workweek

The termite season runs on a four-day workweek. Applicants must be available from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, on a rotating schedule that generally includes 1 to 2 Saturdays per month.

Christmas Décor Season

From October through January, the role shifts to seasonal Christmas work. You will lead a small team of 2 to 4 people and travel to homes or businesses to install Christmas lights and decorations.

Being able to work on roofs is preferred for this part of the role, though it is not required. During this season, the company operates on a five-day workweek, and overtime is expected to be likely.

Compensation

Pay is set at $16 to $18 per hour.
