AxiaMetrics is looking for a Senior Software Engineer / Subject Matter Expert with deep hands-on experience in Oracle Elastic Charging Engine (ECE) and Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller (OC3C). This position is centered on building, integrating, and supporting real-time charging and intelligent network solutions for telecommunications environments that demand high availability and resilience.

What the role involves

  • Building, enhancing, and sustaining real-time charging solutions on Oracle ECE for voice, data, and converged service use cases.
  • Adapting ECE components such as extensions, gateways, charging sessions, credit-control flows, and balance handling processes.
  • Installing, configuring, upgrading, and supporting ECE platforms, including cloud-native and geo-redundant setups.
  • Connecting ECE with BRM, PDC, mediation layers, PCRF/PCF, 5G charging components, and other telecom systems.
  • Designing OC3C control plans, feature nodes, and SLEE-based applications for live telecom charging services.
  • Implementing and maintaining Voice, SMS, USSD, and Intelligent Network service logic.
  • Working with telecom signaling technologies such as Diameter, SS7, MAP, TCAP, and SIGTRAN.
  • Tracking platform health, resolving issues, and improving performance, scalability, and uptime.
  • Handling L2/L3 production support, investigating root causes, and driving operational improvements.
  • Introducing CI/CD workflows, automation, monitoring, and deployment standards.
  • Partnering with network, billing, DevOps, and operations teams to design and deliver solutions.

Technical requirements

  • Strong command of Oracle ECE architecture, deployment, customization, and administration.
  • Solid knowledge of Oracle OC3C architecture, service-control environments, and real-time charging delivery.
  • Advanced understanding of Diameter protocols, including Gy, Ro, and Sy, as well as SS7 protocols such as CAMEL, INAP, and MAP.
  • Practical experience with SIGTRAN technologies like M3UA and SCTP.
  • Core Java development experience, including ECE extension customization.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Experience building or consuming REST and SOAP web services.
  • Familiarity with Kafka or comparable event-streaming tools.
  • Comfort working on Unix/Linux systems and writing Shell scripts.
  • Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native deployment models.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and automated deployment practices.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Understanding of 5G charging architecture and CHF integration.

Preferred background

  • Previous work in telecom billing, charging, and Intelligent Network environments.
  • Experience integrating Oracle BRM, PDC, mediation, and provisioning platforms.
