About the role

The Senior Human Resources Generalist is an experienced HR partner who works alongside the Human Resources Manager to support employee relations, performance management, and broader HR programs that help advance business goals. In this position, you serve as a trusted contact for both leaders and employees, while also driving important HR projects and process enhancements.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with the HR Manager on everyday employee relations matters by offering guidance, coaching, and performance support to employees and supervisors.
  • Investigate workplace concerns and employee relations cases, coordinate discussions with staff and management, and help bring issues to resolution.
  • Support onboarding activities, including new hire orientation, to create a smooth and welcoming start for new employees.
  • Own and coordinate assigned HR projects and initiatives, ensuring they are completed on time and aligned with company priorities.
  • Coach and mentor HR specialists or generalists to help strengthen their skills and professional growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate HR data for Headquarters and/or Field Business Units to spot risk areas and suggest improvements.
  • Partner with the HR Manager on retention efforts aimed at lowering turnover and improving employee engagement.
  • Oversee follow-up with new hires, including sending surveys and addressing issues that arise early in employment.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • HR certifications such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or an equivalent credential are preferred.
  • At least 5 years of increasing HR responsibility in a generalist or senior generalist capacity, with experience supporting HR leadership.
  • Solid knowledge of employment law, HR policies and practices, and compliance expectations.
  • Strong people skills, communication ability, and conflict-resolution judgment, with the confidence to influence across levels.
  • Working proficiency with MS Office tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, plus familiarity with HRIS platforms.
