About the Opportunity

Civix is hiring a Senior Engineer for its Christchurch office in Canterbury, New Zealand. The position covers a broad mix of civil infrastructure, land development, and multidisciplinary projects, with involvement from the concept stage through to delivery. You will play a central role in the engineering team by contributing technical expertise, guiding junior staff, coordinating with stakeholders, and working alongside internal specialists across survey, planning, and design.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical problem-solving and help deliver complex civil infrastructure work to a high standard.
• Contribute to projects across civil infrastructure and land development in multiple sectors.
• Support, mentor, and develop engineers while encouraging strong technical performance and professional growth.
• Build productive relationships with clients and outside stakeholders, representing the company in a professional manner.
• Use strong Civil 3D capability to assist with quality checks, compliance reviews, and occasional hands-on design work, while keeping the main focus on leadership and stakeholder coordination.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 8 years of experience, along with a degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Background in delivering complex civil infrastructure projects within New Zealand.
• Solid Civil 3D design skills and confidence in reviewing technical outputs for quality and compliance.
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers and helping improve team outcomes.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders.
• A strong sense of accountability, high personal standards, and commitment to quality delivery.
