The role

You will join an engineering group made up of frontend, backend, SRE, and QA specialists working in cross-functional product teams. The exact team will be decided during the interview process based on business priorities and your interests. In this role, you will help build internal tools, APIs, and integrations for one of the company’s products.

The backend stack includes Elixir, Phoenix, and Postgres. The frontend uses React and Next.js. GitLab serves as the source control, issue tracking, and CI/CD platform, while AWS hosts the applications. Deployments are fully automated through CI and happen several times each day.

What you'll do

  • Take ownership of major projects within your team and contribute to cross-team initiatives for HR and Payroll products.
  • Shape product direction by sharing technical input, proposing solutions, and suggesting product improvements.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the team’s business domain from both the product and engineering perspectives.
  • Review code and provide constructive feedback to other engineers.
  • Work on the shared codebase and contribute to ongoing platform development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical as well as business-related issues.
  • Participate in support rotations, hiring activities, RFC discussions, and other engineering-wide efforts.
  • Mentor teammates and support the growth of other engineers.
  • Explore and deliver platform improvements that increase quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Design interfaces with attention to performance, accessibility, and API quality.
  • Help reshape engineering delivery so autonomous agents become a standard execution layer.
  • Design and roll out end-to-end agentic workflows covering specification, planning, execution, and verification.
  • Create reusable agentic workflows and primitives that can be applied across multiple domains.
  • Use checks, tests, evaluations, and guardrails to confirm outputs are accurate, secure, dependable, and scalable.

What we're looking for

  • Solid engineering fundamentals and a history of delivering production systems that are secure, reliable, and able to scale.
  • Hands-on experience with agentic or automation workflows, or similar systems, and improving them through iteration.
  • Strong systems thinking, including the ability to write clear specs, break work into plans, define verification, and improve quality through feedback loops.
  • Practical experience with Postgres or a comparable database.
  • Experience using CI/CD tooling such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar systems.
  • Comfort working with automation and AI, along with strong AI fluency.
  • Helpful extra experience with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Next.js, and modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular.
