Scrum Master

Overview

Ventula Consulting is hiring a Scrum Master for a leading ecommerce client in London. This is a 6-month contract offering a daily rate of £520 and falling outside IR35. The role is designed for someone who can guide the team’s Agile ways of working, strengthen delivery practices, and help embed Scrum across the wider business.

Role Summary

You will support the team in applying Agile values and principles, facilitate core Scrum ceremonies, and help create an environment where collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement can thrive. The position is based in Central London, with one day each week in the office and the remainder working remotely.

Responsibilities

• Encourage clear communication and strong teamwork across delivery teams, stakeholders, and the wider organisation while removing blockers that slow progress.
• Coach team members on Agile frameworks, practices, and principles, supporting broader adoption of Scrum and related methods.
• Help the client’s teams become more self-sufficient, motivated, and focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
• Evaluate the team’s Agile maturity and guide practical, sustainable steps to strengthen ways of working.
• Work closely with product owners and other stakeholders so delivery priorities stay aligned with business value.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a Scrum Master, including supporting more than one team.
• Strong understanding of Agile approaches, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Experience running team health checks, workshops, and maturity-focused improvement activities.
• Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to resolve conflict, negotiate, and bridge technical and non-technical discussions.
• Proven ability to help cross-functional teams adopt Agile practices and principles.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where priorities and requirements can change quickly.
• A strong interest in ongoing learning and in improving Agile practices over time.

Additional Information

The contract runs for 6 months. The rate is £520 per day and the engagement is outside IR35.

Location details: Central London with a hybrid setup consisting of one day in the office per week and remote working for the rest of the time.
