Sales Executive

Role overview

This position is for an On-Trade Sales Representative based in Singapore. The role focuses on growing sales across an assigned district or segment by building strong outlet relationships, executing promotional activity, and translating customer needs into effective commercial plans.

Sales planning and account management

• Work with the Area Sales Manager to design a territory-specific sales plan that supports volume growth for the assigned On-Trade segment or district.
• Build a strong understanding of the local market, customer expectations, and segment dynamics to support mutually beneficial business outcomes.
• Develop relationships with outlets through regular engagement, identify opportunities to expand sales, and keep an eye on competitor activity in the same trade channels.
• Assess and negotiate business terms and conditions, including volume incentives and trade or consumer initiatives, while keeping an eye on cost control and profitability.
• Coordinate with Marketing and Trade Marketing teams to promote value propositions and prepare business plans for review with outlet owners on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Support cross-functional execution of in-store promotional campaigns and help evaluate how effective they are at driving sales.
• Monitor Promotion Agents during roving or field-based sales activities, where applicable.
• Respond quickly to questions, requests, and complaints, working with internal teams to ensure customer needs are clearly understood and addressed.
• Collect market insights on trade trends and competitor actions and use that information to recommend suitable counter-actions.
• Keep accurate electronic and physical records of sales activity, produce customer and project reports, and ensure all sales paperwork is completed correctly and on time.
• Carry out other duties related to the role as assigned.

Outlet execution and field activity

• Partner with Marketing and Trade Marketing to implement and track below-the-line activities in assigned outlets while staying aligned to brand strategy.
• Meet the assigned outlet call plan and ensure strong execution of Picture of Success standards, with emphasis on availability, affordability, and visibility of the beer portfolio.
• Run each sales call in an organized way, cover all important discussion points, and use an iPad to manage call objectives, update outlet listings, and capture market feedback.

Requirements

• A diploma is the minimum educational qualification for this role.
• Strong spoken and written communication skills in English and Chinese are required, with the ability to engage effectively with Chinese-speaking clients.
• At least 2 years of experience in sales, marketing, or another customer-facing role, preferably within FMCG.
• A valid driving licence and access to a car are preferred.
• Basic computer literacy is needed.
• Practical understanding of on-premise sales methods and outlet execution is expected.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport both inside and outside the organisation.
• Strong negotiation ability with a focus on balanced, win-win outcomes.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
