Role Overview
This position sits within Engineering & Facilities and is a full-time, non-management role based in Doha, Qatar at Ras Abu Abboud Street. The technician is responsible for handling guest repair needs, supporting day-to-day upkeep, and helping maintain the property’s equipment, rooms, and common areas to a high standard.
Core Duties
- Address guest repair requests promptly and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance concerns.
- Carry out preventive upkeep on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical-room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Inspect tools, machines, and equipment visually to identify wear or faults.
- Transport required tools and communication devices as needed.
- Find and operate equipment shut-off valves and building utility shut-offs.
- Track maintenance stock and request parts and supplies when required.
- Share daily updates, issues, and work progress with other shifts using approved communication methods.
- Work on basic tasks across HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, finish work, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy-saving systems, and general building support.
- Handle surface prep, painting, minor drywall and trim repairs, light bulb changes, A/C filter replacement, and full cleanup after work is completed.
- Test, diagnose, and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, guestroom items, and related assets.
- Program televisions and support general housekeeping and engineering inventory tasks.
- Use lockout/tagout procedures before starting maintenance work.
- Repair interior and exterior landscaping systems, including sprinkler-related issues.
- Use basic computer systems to enter air-handler schedules and adjust temperatures.

- Handle physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, climbing stairs, using ramps or ladders, and working in awkward positions.
- Use computers to enter and find work-related information.
- Carry out additional reasonable duties as assigned.
Preferred Profile
The ideal candidate has prior exposure to general maintenance work, especially surface preparation and painting. Experience in hotel engineering or property maintenance is considered an advantage. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and no supervisory background is required. A valid driver’s license is necessary for the role.
