About the Role
The Royal Marsden is seeking a Project Support Officer to join its Clinical Genomics team. This post sits at the centre of an active programme delivering meaningful improvements in molecular diagnostics and genomics services, with a direct impact on patient care and day-to-day operations.
You will help keep projects moving by handling administrative coordination, maintaining core project records, and supporting communication across multidisciplinary stakeholders. The role also involves helping with planning activities, tracking progress against milestones, managing RAID logs, and preparing reports that support governance and decision-making.
In addition, you will assist with financial and resource coordination, including procurement steps, budget monitoring, raising resource requests, and obtaining quotes where needed. The position supports strategic work within Clinical Genomics to improve services and strengthen outcomes for patients and staff.
This is a strong opportunity to build project management experience in a supportive NHS environment while contributing to work that has a real public benefit.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate daily project activities and help ensure work stays on track.
- Maintain and update project documentation, including briefs, plans, and RAID logs.
- Support Project Managers and workstream leads in delivering planned outputs to the required standard.
- Track milestones, monitor progress, and help prepare governance reports.
- Facilitate communication between project team members and wider stakeholder groups.
- Assist with budget tracking, procurement administration, and resource coordination.
- Help secure resource availability by liaising with relevant teams and supporting request and quotation processes.
- Carry out administrative duties that support effective and timely project delivery.
What We Are Looking For
- Someone who works well within a team but is also comfortable working independently without close supervision.
- Experience supporting Project Managers with project documents such as project briefs, project plans, and RAID logs.
- The ability to help coordinate project delivery and keep multiple activities organised.
- Strong communication skills for working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail when handling documentation and tracking tasks.
