About the Company
Remarkable Talent helps organisations find people who can perform well in fast-moving, constantly evolving environments. The business focuses on sourcing adaptable, agile professionals who can contribute meaningful outcomes and strengthen workforce capability. Along with technical ability, it values learning agility, collaboration, and comfort working alongside modern tools such as AI. Its approach is centred on long-term value and finding the right match for organisations that need immediate support, short-term reinforcement, or broader workforce development.
Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site position in Adelaide, South Australia, within a product-led research and development team at a manufacturer of residential electromechanical products. Working inside an agile squad structure, you will help steer one or more cross-functional teams through the complete product development journey, from backlog refinement and sprint planning to delivering high-value releases.
The position is ideal for a seasoned Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager who understands electromechanical or hardware product environments and can turn complex technical dependencies into clear priorities, working rhythms, and outcomes. In this servant-leader role, you will coach teams in agile principles, reduce organisational distractions, support continuous improvement, and keep the Product Owner and engineering stakeholders aligned from strategy through to execution.
Delivery and Backlog Management
- Work closely with Product Owners to keep strategy and execution in sync across the squad backlog.
- Support the team in shaping valuable, well-defined releases and assist with estimation and prioritisation of features.
- Maintain clear visibility over progress and raise blockers early so delivery stays on course.
- Tailor the delivery approach to suit the squad, using Scrum, Kanban, or a blended model for development and maintenance work.
Facilitation and Agile Ceremonies
- Facilitate all squad events, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
- Make sure Product Owners, engineers, and relevant stakeholders actively contribute to each session.
- Create an environment where retrospectives lead to real action rather than discussion alone.
Dependencies and Stakeholder Coordination
- Identify and manage connections between squads, including products, integrations, and sub-assemblies, and recommend practical ways to stay aligned.
- Build effective working relationships among Product Owners, squad members, and wider stakeholders across R&D, engineering, and product teams.
- Help guide decisions around scope, schedule commitments, and resolving trade-offs.
Coaching and Continuous Improvement
- Develop squad capability by coaching team members on agile values, principles, and practices, with a focus on self-management over time.
- Encourage a mindset of ongoing improvement and challenge existing approaches to improve delivery efficiency.
- Set up and maintain KPIs, visual management tools, and reporting that track backlog health, risk, and delivery progress.
Impediment Removal
- Spot obstacles early, escalate them appropriately, and support the team in clearing issues that affect momentum or quality.
- Ensure the squad has the trust, support, and organisational access required to work effectively.
- Consider the downstream effect of blockers and implement timely responses to reduce risk.
Essential Experience and Skills
Applicants should bring hands-on experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Project Manager in a product development, engineering, or R&D setting. A strong working knowledge of Scrum and Kanban is required, along with practical experience running squad rituals and ceremonies. The role also calls for the ability to manage backlog complexity, balance competing priorities, and preserve a clear delivery cadence.
Strong coaching, facilitation, and communication skills are important, especially when working with both technical and non-technical audiences. Candidates should also be comfortable using digital agile tools for planning, tracking, and visual management such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello, or similar platforms. You should be able to identify blockers quickly, create urgency where needed, and push for resolution without disrupting team flow. Exposure to electromechanical, electrical, or hardware product development is also expected.
Desirable Experience
It is advantageous to have experience in R&D delivery environments, including product lifecycle management, design iteration, and release governance. Familiarity with scaled agile models such as Scrum at Scale, SAFe, Nexus, or LeSS would be well regarded, as would formal certification in Scrum Master or agile methods such as RSM, CSM, PSM, SAFe SM, AgilePM, or PMI-ACP. Experience in change management or coaching teams through agile adoption, as well as coordinating dependencies across multiple squads, would also be beneficial.
Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in engineering, science, project management, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent practical experience in a technical or product development environment will also be considered. Formal training or certification in agile delivery frameworks is highly regarded. A continued commitment to professional growth in agile practices, team coaching, or product delivery is also expected.
Location and Work Environment
This role is based on-site in Adelaide, South Australia. You will be part of a collaborative, product-focused R&D environment where agile practices are embedded across multidisciplinary engineering teams building, testing, and certifying innovative residential electromechanical products.
Additional Information
This is a strong opportunity to take on a key role within a high-performing R&D team and help shape how products are built and delivered.
