Role overview
The Project Finance Controller will work as a commercial finance partner with an operational focus, supporting project-level financial governance and collaboration across internal stakeholders such as Account Executives and Service Delivery Managers.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with business and delivery teams to support financial decision-making and cross-functional coordination.
- Track and interpret financial performance indicators, including WIP/BIA, revenue, and costs, and compare budgets with forecasts for the project portfolio.
- Lead the monthly close process by ensuring accurate revenue recognition, expense recording, provisions, and variance analysis, then communicate outcomes to leadership and finance stakeholders.
- Oversee delivery cost control and productivity targets while working with onshore and offshore controlling teams to strengthen cost discipline.
- Maintain reporting systems, monitor WIP/BIA balances, manage billing activities, and ensure adherence to financial controls and audit expectations.
- Assist sales and business partners by coordinating client offer submissions and ensuring internal process compliance.
Candidate profile
The role calls for a finance professional with 2 to 12 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting, and actuals management within a project environment. A strong understanding of project accounting and IFRS-based revenue recognition is expected, along with practical exposure to cost accruals and journal entry postings. Experience with SAP for project controlling is preferred; SAP HANA 4 is especially useful, and Oracle knowledge would be an added advantage.
