Policy Administrator

Overview

This is a long-term freelance engagement for an insurance professional to support AI workflows across claims and operations. The role is fully remote and is intended for someone who can start right away, with onboarding expected to happen in about 24 hours.

Compensation and Commitment

Pay is set at USD 100-125 per hour. A minimum contribution of 10 hours each week is required, and availability of 20 or more hours per week is preferred.

Core Work

• Convert practical insurance processes into clear, structured tasks for AI systems.
• Review AI-created responses for correctness, reasoning quality, and insurance domain accuracy.
• Support scenarios involving claims review, underwriting analysis, policy administration, and risk assessment.
• Examine claims records, policy files, and risk-related reports to spot patterns, exposures, and possible improvements.
• Write down assumptions, reasoning, and decisions in a clear and organized way.
• Share feedback that helps improve AI output quality and reliability.

Required Background

• Strong hands-on experience in insurance operations, claims management, underwriting, or risk.
• Demonstrated work across at least three of these areas: claims adjudication, underwriting, policy administration, subrogation, and risk analysis.
• Between 5 and 10 years of relevant experience, with flexibility for especially strong candidates.
• Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• High attention to detail along with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Work Style

The role is mostly asynchronous, so scheduling is flexible. Meetings are kept to a minimum, with optional office hours usually offered one to two times per week. Collaboration is handled through Slack and internal tools, and consistent, proactive communication is expected.
