Role Overview
The Philanthropy Advisor will shape and oversee giving strategies, nurture donor relationships, and help deliver high-impact philanthropic initiatives. The position involves working closely with individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and nonprofit organizations to ensure charitable investments are aligned with meaningful social outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and roll out strategic philanthropy and charitable giving initiatives.
- Develop and sustain trusted relationships with donors, foundations, nonprofit groups, and community partners.
- Guide donors and stakeholders toward philanthropic opportunities that reflect their goals and values.
- Research social impact programs, funding avenues, and community requirements.
- Assess and shortlist nonprofit organizations and community projects for possible funding support.
- Manage grant-making workflows, donor engagement efforts, and partnership activities.
- Track and assess the performance and social impact of funded programs.
- Draft reports, presentations, and impact evaluations for donors and senior leadership.
- Work with internal teams on CSR, ESG, and wider community engagement initiatives.
- Keep up to date with philanthropy developments, nonprofit-sector trends, and relevant regulations.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Communications, International Development, or a similar discipline.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in philanthropy, nonprofit operations, fundraising, donor relations, CSR, ESG, or community development.
- Proven ability to build relationships and engage stakeholders effectively.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Solid research and analytical ability.
- Hands-on experience with grants, donor programs, partnerships, or community-focused initiatives.
- Capability to juggle multiple priorities while keeping a sharp eye on detail.
- Professional conduct marked by integrity, discretion, and maturity.
- Strong motivation to drive measurable social impact.
Preferred Background
- Experience with charitable foundations, nonprofit organizations, family offices, corporate giving programs, or international development bodies.
- Exposure to grant administration, impact measurement, and social investment approaches.
- Understanding of Singapore’s nonprofit, charity, and philanthropy environment is an advantage.
- Postgraduate study or certifications in nonprofit leadership, CSR, ESG, public policy, or social impact would be beneficial.
- Experience collaborating across government, private-sector, and nonprofit stakeholders is helpful.
