Pharmacy Technician

Role Overview

A busy independent pharmacy in Galway is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to become part of its team. The position is based in a pharmacy that operates seven days a week, so the schedule may include daytime shifts, occasional late evenings, and some weekend work.

Core Duties

• Assist with preparing and dispensing prescriptions while working under the pharmacist’s supervision, always maintaining a courteous and professional approach.
• Ensure tasks are completed accurately and details are carefully checked.
• Put together and arrange blister packs for patients.
• Handle pharmacy claims and keep track of them in an organised way.
• Monitor stock levels and place medicine orders when required.
• Support customers and provide guidance on over-the-counter products.

Essential Criteria

The employer is seeking someone with at least 6 months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an Irish-run pharmacy. Candidates must also be familiar with pharmacy software systems and have a strong understanding of claim submission and resubmission processes.

Work Schedule

This role may involve shifts during the day, as well as occasional late evening and weekend hours, due to the pharmacy’s Monday-to-Sunday operating pattern.
