Role overview

PsychPlus is looking for a meticulous Payroll Specialist to manage payroll operations for its US workforce. The position focuses on accurate, on-time payroll execution, compliance with federal, state, and local rules, and close coordination with HR and finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Handle payroll processing from start to finish for all US employees with a focus on accuracy and timely completion.
• Keep payroll practices aligned with federal, state, and local compliance requirements.
• Manage payroll tax submissions and related reporting duties.
• Work with HR and Finance to improve payroll policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Respond to employee questions and resolve payroll concerns efficiently.
• Keep payroll documentation and records organized for audits and reporting.
• Support year-end activities, including W-2s, 1099s, and other statutory filings.
• Guide and coach payroll team members where applicable.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline is preferred.
• At least 5 years of payroll experience, including a minimum of 2 years in payroll.
• Strong working knowledge of US payroll rules, tax obligations, and compliance standards.
• Hands-on experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, Workday, or comparable tools.
• High attention to detail, strong organization, and clear communication skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Leadership and people-management experience is considered an advantage.
