Role overview
This is a permanent full-time position based on 80 hours per fortnight within the People and Culture team at Maryborough District Health Service. The role is suited to someone who enjoys accurate administrative work, values confidentiality, and wants to contribute to a healthcare organisation that supports its staff and wider community.
What the role involves
- Preparing and processing the fortnightly payroll accurately and on time.
- Keeping employee and payroll records current, organised, and detailed.
- Overseeing compliance requirements for security screening, including National Police Certificates, Working With Children checks, and NDIS checks.
- Supporting and training leaders in rostering and HR systems, including Kronos (Dimensions).
- Maintaining accurate data across systems at all times.
- Handling confidential and sensitive queries by email, phone, and in person, then following them through promptly.
- Helping review and roll out updated systems, policies, and procedures.
What you should bring
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Ability to manage work within tight deadlines.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A friendly, caring, and energetic manner when dealing with service users and colleagues.
- Confident computer skills across common software such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and databases, along with advanced Excel capability.
- Exposure to HRIS and rostering systems, plus prior experience in a human resources or finance setting within healthcare, would be an advantage.

Applicants must have good availability, strong communication skills, and a flexible approach. Appointments are subject to a satisfactory National Police Check and Working with Children Check. An NDIS Workers Screening check will also be required for workers identified as being in a risk-assessed role.
