Role overview
The Payroll Officer will oversee payroll operations from start to finish, making sure calculations are correct and aligned with UAE labour regulations and internal policies. The position also covers employee record management in the ERP system, insurance administration, HR reporting, and close coordination with HR and Finance on payroll-related work.
HR responsibilities
- Keep employee records current and accurate in the ERP/HRMS platform.
- Administer employee insurance registrations and policy renewals.
- Compile and review HR data such as attendance, leave, and headcount reports.
- Track employee attendance and leave entries to confirm they are correct.
Finance responsibilities
- Run monthly payroll accurately and within deadlines.
- Work out GPSSA contributions and ensure all required compliance steps are met.
- Process vacation and sick-leave pay, including reserves for unused vacation balances.
- Distribute payroll expenses to the correct cost centres, products, and lines of business using timesheets or comparable inputs.
- Maintain proper payroll accounting and perform reconciliations.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a similar discipline is required.
- At least 3 to 5 years of payroll processing experience in the UAE is needed.
- Strong working knowledge of UAE labour law, GPSSA, and payroll compliance is essential.
- Hands-on experience with ERP platforms and Microsoft Excel is important.
- Sharp attention to detail and strong analytical ability are required.
- The role calls for effective collaboration with HR and Finance stakeholders.
- Good organisation and time-management skills are expected.
- High levels of confidentiality and integrity are necessary when handling sensitive information.
- A problem-solving mindset with a focus on improving processes is valued.
