What the role involves
The Patient Advisor is the first point of contact for many patients and plays an important part in making each person feel welcomed and supported throughout their visit. The role combines patient interaction, clinic support, administrative accuracy, and guidance on treatment options.
Key duties
- Develop strong relationships with patients and keep in touch with them before and after treatment.
- Support patient consultations and clinic visits.
- Carry out diagnostic scans using advanced equipment as part of a comprehensive health assessment.
- Help patients complete health and lifestyle questionnaires.
- Introduce patients to the optometrist.
- Arrange appointment dates for vision correction surgery.
- Explain standard vision correction options such as glasses and contact lenses.
- Walk patients through available finance choices.
- Maintain patient records carefully and accurately.
