Role overview
This position supports patient access and appointment coordination, helping ensure that care is arranged efficiently and that patients are fully prepared for their visits. The role requires a strong grasp of insurance rules, eligibility checks, benefit details, and authorization needs, along with a service-focused approach for patients, providers, and internal teams.
About the employer
Adventist Health has operated its corporate headquarters in Roseville, California, within the Sacramento metropolitan area, for more than four decades. In 2019, the organization introduced a WELL-certified campus designed to create a refreshing environment where associates across the system can work together, innovate, and connect. The Roseville campus and shared service groups are provided with a welcoming setting intended to support well-being and strong performance.
Key duties
The representative handles a broad set of patient access and scheduling tasks to support high-quality care delivery. This includes arranging, updating, and confirming appointments in line with department rules, gathering required patient details, validating insurance and authorization needs, and making sure patients have the right instructions and documentation before services take place.
Scheduling and coordination
This role works with referring and ordering providers to book the appropriate services, while also confirming that patient preparation steps are complete. It involves maintaining accurate demographic, insurance, and financial records, verifying patient identity and medical record number details, and checking for required orders, authorizations, lab work, premedication, and implant-related information.
Administrative and customer service support
The position also includes retrieving outside medical records when needed, handling patient and provider messages accurately and without delay, and assisting clinicians, technologists, and other team members with access and scheduling requests. Consistently delivering excellent service to both internal and external customers is an important part of the job.
Additional requirements and organizational notes
Employment is contingent on meeting vaccination requirements, including any required annual vaccinations where applicable. Medical and religious exemptions may be available. Adventist Health also participates in E-Verify, and applicants are expected to review the E-Verify Participation and Right to Work notices before applying.
About the organization

Its network includes over 440 care sites and 27 acute care facilities, along with hospitals, clinics, home care, and hospice services in rural and urban settings. The organization’s workforce includes more than 38,000 employees, physicians, medical staff, and volunteers united by a mission to inspire health, wholeness, and hope through compassionate care.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, and an associate’s or technical degree in business is preferred. The role also calls for at least one year of customer service experience, ideally in healthcare or another service-oriented setting, plus at least one year of experience in patient access, revenue cycle, a physician’s office, health insurance, or a related field.
