Role overview

This role is focused on owning budget, people growth, and operational outcomes for one function within a Fulfillment Center, such as Inbound, Outbound, or Change Ops. The position also involves guiding Area Managers, strengthening team capability through coaching, and fostering a positive workplace culture while developing future leaders inside the center.

Core responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe working environment for every associate and team member.
  • Direct and support a team of Area Managers, team leads, process associates, and associates in operations.
  • Own safety, quality, productivity, and delivery targets for the assigned department.
  • Plan strategically, forecast staffing needs, evaluate performance, solve operational issues, and address manpower gaps.
  • Study work forecasts and calculate productivity requirements needed to meet daily building goals.
  • Ensure BM rates and OP2 throughput commitments are achieved.
  • Coordinate closely with other Operations Managers and lead cross-functional initiatives by adopting proven practices.
  • Spot opportunities for process improvement and drive those initiatives proactively.
  • Understand system interventions used in order processing and communicate new process controls to the team.
  • Lead ART events from a capacity-planning perspective and organize manpower, material, and machine readiness.
  • Carry out periodic machine/resource planning and help remove or reduce capacity bottlenecks with Resource Planning and Finance.
  • Promote strong people-management practices and own FC compliance, Connections, and scorecard performance.
  • Build team capability, develop employees, and create a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Gain working knowledge of Flex levers, technical aspects of the role, and Amazon ERP systems.
  • Handle stakeholder management and project management effectively, including cross-mile and cross-functional coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a blue badge/FTE with Amazon is preferred.
