Role overview
This opening is for a Mechanical Technician supporting utilities and maintenance at a generator manufacturing facility in Coimbatore. The position sits within the Maintenance / Utilities department and focuses on keeping plant utility systems and mechanical equipment running reliably.
Qualification
- ITI in Mechanical trade or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Any other mechanical diploma that is relevant to the role may also be considered.
Experience profile
- Hands-on experience in maintaining and operating mechanical utility systems.
- Working knowledge ranging from basic to intermediate level in electrical systems.
- Familiarity with the operation and upkeep of STP, WTP, and ETP systems.
- Ability to diagnose issues in mechanical equipment and utility infrastructure.
- Prior exposure to Textile, Foundry, Manufacturing, Heavy Engineering, or Industrial Utilities environments is preferred.
Key responsibilities
- Run and maintain utility systems such as STP, WTP, and ETP.
- Perform scheduled preventive work as well as corrective breakdown maintenance on mechanical assets.
- Track the condition of pumps, motors, pipelines, compressors, and related utility equipment.
- Work closely with electrical maintenance colleagues to help ensure stable plant operations.
- Follow safety, environmental, and operational requirements at all times.
- Keep accurate maintenance logs, checklists, and utility consumption reports.
- Assist production teams by ensuring that utility support remains available without interruption.
