Role overview
The Commercial Manager will steer all commercial and business development work in Saudi Arabia, with responsibility for growth, major client management, regulatory alignment and close coordination with headquarters. The position places strong emphasis on Saudi Aramco, government-related requirements and end-to-end commercial activities from tender preparation through invoicing.
Commercial management
- Guide the commercial team and work in close sync with headquarters.
- Carry out market studies, support pricing decisions and review competitor activity.
- Prepare proposals, manage tender submissions, oversee budgets and documentation, and lead discussions after tendering.
- Administer contracts, billing, regulatory submissions and commercial reporting related to vessels.
- Assist the Finance function with budgeting and monthly performance updates.
Client and business development
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with clients, especially Saudi Aramco and its contractors.
- Handle negotiation, collections, payment follow-up and CRM record updates.
- Drive new business opportunities, keep the pipeline active and build relationships with vessel owners.
- Collect market insights and represent the organization at sector events.
Compliance and government relations
- Manage interactions with government bodies and keep commercial permits and related records current.
- Update Aramco systems on a monthly basis.
- Oversee ZATCA e-invoicing compliance and manage cybersecurity and ESG certification requirements.
Invoicing, verification and IKTVA
- Lead the invoicing team and support submissions through SAP and Aramco portals.
- Prepare backup documentation and coordinate verification procedures.
- Manage IKTVA reporting, data preparation and audit support activities.
Cross-functional coordination
- Work with Operations, Insurance, Risk, Legal and IT teams on Saudi Arabia matters.
- Maintain internal commercial reporting and track vessel status.
